Consent and channel eligibility
An audience only ever reaches guests who have agreed to be contacted, and only by the channel they agreed to.
When you'd use it
Every time you build an audience for outreach, so a send only reaches eligible guests.
How it behaves
Every audience carries three counts: everyone who matches, those reachable by email, and those reachable by SMS. To be reachable by a channel a guest must have opted in to that channel and have a working email or phone, so the reachable size can differ a lot from the total match. Consent is applied automatically; it is not a condition you add.
A guest who withdraws consent drops out of what is reachable, and the reachable count is a guide, not a promise: unsubscribes and suppression are applied at send time, so the number actually delivered can be lower.
Configuration and options
- Three counts
- Total match, email-reachable and SMS-reachable.
- Channel opt-in
- Reachability needs the right consent plus a working email or phone.
- Automatic scoping
- Consent is applied for you, not added as a condition.
- Withdrawal
- A guest who withdraws consent drops out of reach.
Good to know
The total match and the reachable count for a channel can differ.
Reachable is not the same as delivered; suppression and unsubscribes apply at send time.
