Building an audience

Build an audience by stacking conditions over the guest profile, or start from a quick-start recipe, and preview exactly who is in it before you send.

When you'd use it

When you want to target a specific group, such as at-risk regulars, guests with a birthday this month, recently engaged openers, or guests on your doorstep.

How it behaves

Add conditions from a catalogue grouped by what they cover: marketing engagement (received, opened or clicked a campaign, or did not, within a period), venue visits (visited or not visited, in the last so many days or between dates), profile tags (has a tag, or does not), profile details (a birthday today, this month or next, a UK phone number, an email domain or prefix, a postcode prefix, or how long ago they joined), and answers to your custom questions.

Every condition you add must match, so the audience narrows as you stack them. Each condition carries its own choice, such as visited versus has not visited, so you pick the behaviour directly rather than setting an operator.

To start fast, pick a quick-start recipe, such as lapsed regulars, birthday this month, recently engaged, VIPs by tag, or new joiners, then refine it. Before you send, preview the audience: it shows how many guests match, how many are reachable by email and by SMS, and a sample of exactly who is in it. Save it once, then drop it into a send.

Good to know

  • Every condition must match; the audience narrows as you add more.

  • The preview count is a guide to reach, not a guarantee of delivery.

  • To target on something you cannot filter directly, such as spend or a cancelled booking, tag the guest or run a workflow, then build an audience from the tag.
